Market introduction: Indonesia has a population of 258 million, ranking fourth in the world. According to the data released by the Indonesian Statistics Bureau, Indonesia is not only the largest refrigeration and air-conditioning market in Southeast Asia, but also the largest refrigeration and air-conditioning production and re-export base in ASEAN; Indonesia's large air-conditioning mainframes, small refrigeration units, air conditioners, refrigeration equipment, refrigeration and air-conditioning accessories and other products almost all rely on imports, and the demand is increasing at a rate of 15%-20% every year; Indonesia, a "country of thousands of islands", has developed fisheries, and there is a huge demand for freezing equipment, ice-making equipment and cold storage; The ownership rate of refrigerators and air conditioners is extremely low (less than 10% of refrigerators and less than 5% of air conditioners), and with the improvement of life, the demand grows rapidly; Indonesia imported refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment with high tax revenue, all imported parts from China, and some products produced in Indonesia have been exported to Thailand, Vietnam and other places, and achieved good returns; Indonesia's refrigeration industry has a poor foundation and strong dependence on imported products. China's refrigeration and air-conditioning products enter this ASEAN market with the advantages of brand and price. In Indonesia's air conditioning market, Japanese brands and Korean brands are the mainstream, accounting for 40% of the market share respectively.

In addition, Chinese brands account for 15%, and local brands account for 5%. Local brands, including OEM products made in China, are competitive in price, and their performance in Indonesian market is becoming more and more prominent. Chinese manufacturers take advantage of duty-free export to ASEAN countries and quickly set up sales networks in ASEAN. Some local distributors also import parts from China for air conditioning assembly. Indonesia's Central Bureau of Statistics released the statistics of Indonesia's foreign trade in 2016 on January 16. In 2016, Indonesia's foreign trade totaled US$ 280.085 billion, down 4.40% year-on-year, and Indonesia's trade with China totaled US$ 45.783 billion, up 7.79% year-on-year. China continues to be Indonesia's largest trading partner for non-oil and gas products, and China is Indonesia's second largest exporter.
