Trade analysis

According to the data released by the General Administration of Customs of China on January 14, 2018, the bilateral trade volume between China and Russia reached US$ 107.06 billion, exceeding US$ 100 billion for the first time, a record high, with an increase of 27.1%. According to the specific data, in 2018, China's import and export to Russia was RMB 707.55 billion, up 24% year-on-year, accounting for 2.3% of China's total import and export value during the same period. Among them, exports to Russia reached 316.65 billion yuan, up 9.1%, and imports from Russia reached 390.9 billion yuan, up 39.4%. In this regard, Li Kuiwen, spokesman of the General Administration of Customs, said that if it is denominated in US dollars, the growth rate ranks first among China's top ten trading partners. In addition, according to a government activity document published by Russia in 2024, it is planned to increase the trade between Russia and China to 200 billion U.S. dollars by 2024, and then China's investment in Russian economy will increase to 15 billion U.S. dollars.
