Fan coil units are referred to as FCU. It is one of the terminal devices of air conditioning system composed of small fan, motor and coil (air heat exchanger). When chilled water or hot water flows through the coil pipe, it exchanges heat with the air outside the pipe, so that the air is cooled, dehumidified or heated to adjust the indoor air parameters. It is a commonly used terminal device for cooling and heating.

Function
1. Fan coil units should create an indoor air environment suitable for human comfort. Because the indoor air environment plays a very important role in human comfort, creating the indoor air environment required by human comfort has become the primary task of air conditioning.
2. Fan coil units shall meet the indoor air environment required by process production. The working procedure of some processes requires extremely high temperature and humidity environment, which not only directly affects the normal operation of the production procedure, but also affects the output and quality of products. Such as textile production, precision instrument production and drug production technology
3. eliminate indoor harmful gases and concentrated heat and moisture. CO2 in comfortable air-conditioned rooms, bad smell in bathrooms, poisonous and odorous gases produced in production workshops of process air conditioners, as well as local parts emitting a large amount of heat and moisture, should be eliminated by channel air conditioning and exhaust facilities, so as to obtain a good indoor air environment.

General technical requirements for installation
1. The appearance inspection, three-speed operation and water pressure test of fan coil units shall be carried out before installation.
2. Hose connection should be adopted when connecting pipes with fan coil units.
3. The water supply and return valves and filters of fan coil units shall be installed close to the coil units and all above the condensate tray.
4. When hoisting the fan coil unit, the hoisting shall be firm and in the correct position, with a slope of 0.003 towards the outlet of the condensate tray, and the joint between the hanger rod and the coil unit shall be fastened with double nuts. The concealed coil ceiling shall be provided with movable inspection doors to facilitate the maintenance of fan coil units.
5. Special tools should be used when connecting the fan coil with the water supply and return pipe to prevent the coil from connecting. The connection between the condensate tray and the condensate pipe should be made of a 200mm long plastic hose and clamped with a special pipe clamp.
6. The fan coil should be connected with the pipe after flushing to prevent the coil from being blocked; If the filter is installed, it should be disassembled and washed after the system commissioning and operation before delivery.

Installation of fan coil unit
1. Before the installation of fan coil units, single machine three-speed test run and water pressure test shall be carried out. The test pressure is 1.5 times of the working pressure of the system, and no leakage is qualified.
2. The inlet and outlet valves of fan coil units should be installed as close as possible to the condensate tray to avoid dripping of valve stem from leaking into the room.
3. The joints between air duct, air return box and air outlet and fan coil unit shall be tight and firm.
4, drainage slope should be correct, when installation, the fan coil unit can slope slightly to the condensate drain.
