Influence of cold water temperature difference on fan coil

With the improvement of people's living standards, it is imperative to reduce the energy consumption of air-conditioning systems. Generally, air-conditioning systems adopt large temperature difference systems of cold water. By changing the operating parameters of cold water and cooling water, the energy consumption of water distribution pumps is reduced to achieve energy conservation.

When the inlet water temperature and temperature difference are different, the changes of various performance parameters of fan coil units also present different laws:

(1) For the same water supply temperature, with the increase of water supply temperature difference, the total thermal cooling capacity, sensible thermal cooling capacity, latent thermal cooling capacity and moisture evolution coefficient of fan coil units all decrease, while the heat-moisture ratio increases.  Moreover, sensible heat and cold change slowly, latent heat and cold change quickly, while total heat and cold change is between the two.

(2) As the chilled water supply temperature decreases, the effect of the temperature difference on the total thermal cooling capacity, sensible thermal cooling capacity, latent thermal cooling capacity and moisture evolution coefficient of the fan coil unit will decrease accordingly.


It can be seen that with the increase of water supply temperature difference, the cooling capacity of the fan coil unit decreases while the dehumidification capacity of the fan coil unit also decreases obviously, which easily leads to unsatisfied dehumidification requirements of air-conditioned rooms.

From the above analysis, it can be seen that in order to achieve the purpose of energy conservation in the operation of large temperature difference design, certain measures must be taken for fan coil units to make up for the adverse effects caused by large temperature difference.
