Common faults and precautions in fan coil unit maintenance

Reasons for leakage of fan coil unit:

Reason 1: The leakage of fan coil has poor heat preservation, mainly due to the poor heat preservation of the two chilled water pipes of the coil during installation. When the low-temperature chilled water flows from the pipes, the water vapor in the atmosphere condenses into water droplets, and the accumulated water leaks. It can be re-wrapped and insulated to prevent the chilled water pipe from contacting the atmosphere.

Reason 2: There is something dirty blocking the drainage pipe, which makes the drainage unsmooth. Clean up the water receiving tray, insert a homemade water pipe into the drain, block the periphery with something to make it airtight, blow the pipe with your mouth, and knock the drain pipe with something if it doesn't work, so as to loosen the dirt inside until the drain pipe is blown through.

Cause 3: The fan coil fittings, valve filters, electric valves and external teeth are directly connected, which causes water leakage. Detachable, wrapped with raw material tape, and retightened.

If the fan coil fittings, valve filters and electric valves are cracked and leaked due to quality problems, if the valves are not cracked, the two valves for water supply and return can be closed, and the exhaust valve of the coil can be opened to ensure that there is no water flow. If there is no pressure in the fan coil, the broken fittings can be removed and replaced.

If the valve is cracked, only close the two water supply and return air conditioners of the air conditioner on this floor, open the coil exhaust valve, and remove the pipe for replacement after confirming that there is no pressure.

The fan coil temperature control wiring precautions

Pay attention to the following points when testing fan coil units every time:

1. In order to meet the air volume requirement at the outlet static pressure of 12Pa, simply increase the motor power, resulting in that although the air volume reaches the target, the cooling capacity cannot reach the rated value.   

2. Since the previous standards did not require the proportion of the third-gear air volume of the unit, the national standard requires that the unit must specify the static pressure value at the third-gear air volume. In motor selection, the proportional relationship of the third gear air volume is not adjusted well. Some units have almost no difference in the third gear air volume, while others have not opened the high and middle gears or the low gears are too small, which do not meet the requirements of users.

3. Choose inferior motors. When detecting the noise of fan coil units with static pressure requirements, the motors will make noise;

4. The size of the wind wheel selected by the unit is too large or too small, which can not meet the static pressure requirement, especially the selection of the impeller of the small air volume unit should be more cautious;  

5. For high static pressure units, the air leakage problem is serious at the joint of screw hole, plate gap, water tray, copper tube of surface cooler and side plate during assembly, and the air leakage rate of some fan coil units is as high as 20% when the static pressure is high. It is suggested that the production enterprises pay attention to the sealing problem of the units during assembly.

6. Some fan coil units do not improve the surface cooler in order to make the cooling capacity meet the standard, and the air volume exceeds the required value of the standard too much, resulting in the noise value far exceeding the specified value of the standard. This phenomenon is quite common.
