How to Identify the Quality of Fan Coil Unit in Water System?

Fan coil unit is the most common terminal form of central air conditioner in water system.  It consists of small fans, motors and coils, and is widely used in production and life.

So, how should we choose fan coil units?  How to Judge Fan Coil Unit?  How to identify the quality of fan coil units?

1. Look at the fan coil price

Fan coil is a standardized product and the market competition is very fierce.  The best and worst quality of fan coil units is price.  Most of the high-priced ones have better quality than the low-priced ones.  Of course, this is not necessarily accurate.

2. Look at the fan coil technical parameters

See whether the technical parameters including cooling capacity, heat supply, motor power, noise, etc. meet the technical requirements of GB/T19232. The higher the degree of compliance, the higher the quality of fan coil units.

3. Ask fan coil materials

Ask the brand of the electric machine.  The motor is the power source of the fan coil. The quality of the motor is related to the performance and service life of the fan coil.
Ask about the material and thickness of the coil wall.  Coils are generally made of copper tubes, and the material and thickness determine the service life and heat exchange effect of fan coils.  Generally speaking, the thickness of the coil wall is preferably 0.25-0.3 mm.  In terms of materials, based on cost control and heat conduction effect, the general manufacturers choose red copper inside the fuselage and brass for the two cold water pipes connected externally.
Ask the brand of the fuselage plate.  The corrosion resistance of the fan coil is determined by the body plate of the fan coil.
Ask about the warranty period.  The warranty period can roughly evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of fan coil units.  Good quality, longer warranty period;  Poor quality, at most one year.

4. Look at the work.

Knock on the fuselage.  A fan coil of good quality will produce a low banging sound between plastic and metal when its hands are knocked on it.
Touch the edge.  Good quality fan coil not only pays attention to the quality of main parts, but also pays attention to many details.  Good quality fan coil body edges will be treated to prevent cuts, and hands will not be scratched.  However, the edge of the fan coil with poor quality is sharp, and a cut will be made if one is not careful.
Look at the screws.  Good quality fan coil units will use bald screws to fix the machine body. Even if pointed screws are used, the nail head will be cut off to prevent scratches.  If not handled, it is easy to scratch the front-line installer during installation.  However, fan coil units with poor quality will not pay attention to these details.
Listen to the running sound.  The noise emitted by fan coil units during operation is also a key indicator.  High-quality fan coil units will be optimized and adjusted in fuselage design, material selection of worm wheel volute and airflow movement, and noise will be within a reasonable range.  You can find a large brand of fan coil data, and then compare with it to see if the noise value between the two is within a reasonable error range.
Feel the heat of the motor.  The motor with good quality has excellent performance. Under the premise of the same time, the heat of the motor body is much less than that of the motor with poor quality.  Move a fan coil unit with high-quality motor, put it together with the fan coil unit you want to buy, connect the power supply, let them run for 2 hours, and then feel the heat of both.  If the fan coil you want to buy is not well known, be careful not to get burned when touching it.
